Colts Create $8 Million in 2008 Cap Space

Colts Cap has learned that the recent re-signing of Linebacker Tyjuan Hagler has served as a means to shift unused 2007 cap space into 2008 through the use of Likely-to-be-Earned incentives. Hagler, who was set to become a Restricted Free Agent following the 2007 season recently signed a one year contract extension worth $1.417million, the cost of the second round tender.

The signing allows the team to essentially shift cap space from 2007 to 2008, space which would have been lost had this book-keeping maneuver not been made.
