About Colts Cap and the Author

Colts Cap was originally founded in February 2007 as an extension of my joint interests and efforts in both the NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement and the Colts. It was because of these interests that I had begun to amass a rather considerable amount of salary data that, at the time was used only by me in my daily discussions. Because the data wasn't transmittable to others, conversing about relevant issues quickly became difficult.

The migration from my desktop to the web was difficult as the growth of Colts Cap was hampered by my lack of technological abilities. Eventually, through trials, effort, and lots of assistance from others, Colts Cap has grown to what it is now.

As for myself, I've always enjoyed the challenges of working through a complex document or object and trying to not just understand it, but fit it into an existing logical framework. I've always felt that if you can understand how parts function together and are able to make that functioning intuitive, it's easier to understand the system as a whole, especially if you can always reference the individual parts later if needed.

While Colts Cap may appear to simply be a source of both player contracts and relevant Colts CBA news, It's been crucial for me in furthering my understanding of the CBA. Research and learning into this field has only led to more questions, and so Colts Cap has also provided for me a chance to continue to educate myself. I hope it will for you as well.

About me: My full name is Brett Vanlandingham. I am a graduate of Manchester College in 2004 and a graduate of the Indiana University School of Law in Bloomington in 2007. Currently, I am studying to take both the Patent Bar and Indiana State Bar with aspirations of practicing Patent Law in the field of Biotechnology...that is, if my knowledge of the CBA can't pay the bills.
